Apples, an Aphrodisiac through the Ages

Friday, January 14th, 2011

Apples have been tools for seduction for much longer than boxed chocolates. In ancient Greece, a man tossing an apple to a young woman was considered a marriage proposal. Catching it sealed the deal. During the Middle Ages in Europe, a woman who wanted a man to fall for her would sleep with an apple tucked under her arm, and then offer it to him the next day. If he ate the apple, it was believed that he would fall in love with her.

These days, serving apples to your love is a way to say: I want you to feel great and live a long, healthy life. What a wonderful message for your Valentine!
