A New York native, Jonagold made its debut in 1968. A marriage of Jonathan and Golden Delicious apples, Jonagold offers a unique honey-tart flavor and crispy, juicy, nearly-yellow flesh. With a yellow-green tone at the base and red-orange hues around, it is excellent for both eating fresh and for cooking. Give Jonagold a try, it’s usually available October through July.
